About the Cause
"Make a Chain to Break a Chain"
As the exploitation and oppression of children for sexual purposes is a worldwide calamity, it is our modest conviction that there ought to be Rapha Houses springing up in every city and country where people rise up against this oppression. There are potentially dozens— if not hundreds— of such places in the world today, where this calamity currently thrives, virtually unchecked.
What we MUST do then to meet this goal is start by providing Rapha House with enough capital– prayer and financial– to be able to start a new Rapha House as soon as a location and staff are identified. This goal is incredibly modest when compared with the scope of the crisis.
To do this, we have set a goal for the church to ...

The way to the goal: churches, small groups, youth groups, Sunday school classes, or businesses each pledge to give $2,500 by August 31, 2010, and to challenge some other church, youth group, Sunday school class or business to do the same. Individuals pledge to give $250 by the same date and to challenge some other individual to do the same.
Together, those who do so link up to "Make a Chain" to support this great work and show their solidarity with each other and God in participating in this work.
Positions
Why your help is needed ...
- 300-400,000 children are trafficked for sexual exploitation across international borders annually.
- Tens of thousands of Cambodian, Vietnamese, Lao and Burmese are being sexually exploited-- RIGHT NOW.
- They need rescue. They need rehabilitation and restoration.
- We need to help them by having funds ready to build new Rapha Houses (aftercare facilities) when concerned nationals ask for them.
- We need to link up-- make a chain-- to show up together for them, to break the chains of supply and demand and of their slavery.
About the Goal
The way to the goal? Your support!
While $500,000 might sound ambitious, it is but a drop in the ocean of care needed by girls who are trapped in these situations worldwide. The church must rise up to meet this and greater goals than these. How can we do this?
Churches ...
... small groups, youth groups and Sunday School classes
- Buy and be a link (or several) in the chain of churches for $2,500.
- Spread the word and make the chain: Challenge another class, small group, or congregation to do the same, and to challenge still another congregation just as you challenge them.
- In a 10 person small group, this is $250 per person. Over a year. That’s a little over $20 per month per person. That’s less than a dollar a day.
- To save lives. To give hope. To bring healing and restoration.
Seriously— you can help save lives here. Your gift will encourage other groups in their giving also.
- If your congregation, youth group, or class is bigger than ten people, the math only gets easier, and the goal more readily met.
- Special offerings, car washes, bake sales, yard sales, silent auctions, babysitting, sacrificing some luxuries, and plenty of others– there are endless ways to raise the money.

Student Testimony
Sunday Worship at Rapha House
“The church at Rapha House was quickly filling up with girls and families that support Rapha. The pink and blue curtains set the backdrop for the cross on the stage. Worship began and the worship leader was a real rouser who got the girls screaming and repeating her calls though we are not sure what they are singing.
They sang exuberantly and though we wanted to we were only able to conjure up an Amen at the end. I noticed all the needs of the church from an American mindset. A sound system, microphones, better drums, and guitars were needed but they had one key instrument for praise and that is joy! I wished I could bring that instrument back with me and use it at home.
Theirs was a different kind of joy when they sang songs about redemption and being freed they meant and understood it!”
